About Us

To understand what it means to work with The Lifestyle Group, you must first understand how the company was founded. It was 1998 and company patriarch Rich Horen was in the midst of a remodeling project, as a client, in his own home. Unfortunately, what ensued was a nightmare contractor scenario every homeowner fears and after more than a year of work the project still wasn’t complete.

But the situation led to conversations about how we could build a better home remodeling company and deliver homeowners a superior experience from start to finish. That’s what we set out to achieve beginning in March of 1999. Ever since, we’ve worked hard to create a company able to provide a remodeling experience that exceeds expectations on a daily basis.

The measures of our success don’t come from the dozens of design and service awards we’ve received over the years, being named one of the top 50 remodelers in the United States or receiving the Better Business Bureau’s Ethics Award.

Quite honestly, we define our success by one measure: the number of clients who trust The Lifestyle Group enough to recommend us to friends and family or invite us back into their homes for subsequent projects time and time again.

Our reputation matters

Why do those numbers matter? Because they back up the reputation we want for ourselves — that of a reliable remodeling partner and a premiere choice in the Greater Indianapolis area. Our goal at The Lifestyle Group is to develop a lifelong relationship and earn your ongoing trust — and we’ll never betray that trust.

What keeps people coming back? We think there are four primary reasons:

Friendly, talented people

Many clients think of their new kitchen countertops, custom bathroom shower or other renovated areas as their most important products from The Lifestyle Group. But our most important product is the fantastic staff we employ and the process they use for making your remodeling project not just bearable, but an experience you’ll enjoy and remember fondly.

Our convenient, one-stop shop showroom

A place where designs can be born, blueprints can be drafted and selections can be made — you can do it all at our Southeastern Avenue showroom. Don’t worry about stealing samples from several different places in order to see your cabinetry selections side by side with your new countertops, paint colors and more. We have it all under one roof.

Innovative technology

From FaceTime video conference meetings that save time, reduce travel and meet your schedule to the daily progress photos uploaded onto our user-friendly online communication system, your entire project is at your fingertips. In our online portal, you can easily see your project schedule, review selections, make decisions and drop us a note we’ll see any time, day or night.

Minimal subcontracting

Many remodeling companies subcontract most or all of their labor, giving up primary control of the process along the way. The Lifestyle Group employs a permanent staff of skilled craftsmen, minimizing our need for subcontracting. Our experienced, well-rounded team routinely handles all phases of demolition, framing, drywall, carpentry, painting, tile and flooring. For masonry, electrical, plumbing and heating and cooling needs, we’ve developed long-term relationships with trade partners we’ve trusted for many years across countless projects. As a result, your project will maintain a level of consistency and continuity from start to finish.
