Where do you go when all you want to do is replace a door on your home with a good quality product that has a proper installation? What are the differences between the types of doors that get installed on a home? How do people choose which material to use on what opening? What are the entry level options and what are the differences if you want to step up a level or two because this is your long time home or possibly even your forever home? If these questions have you curious, keep reading or watch the 4 minute video as we continue to demystify the remodeling process.
Have you ever noticed there really aren’t door companies in the marketplace? What do you typically do if you have a door problem or if you simply want to upgrade your door to something nicer? It’s not an easy answer. One common answer could be to purchase an often inferior product from a box store and find a handyman to install it, which can be a disaster waiting to happen. Another option is to call window companies and see if they happen to install doors. Both of those can take care of the problem, but they don’t generate a lot of comfort that you are getting the proper guidance on what are the best options available for your particular situation. They also don’t ensure that you get a proper installation, which in the end may be the most important outcome of all.
So we created 26 Entries
The name 26 Entries has personal meaning as both of my daughters wore the number 26 when they were young playing sports. We are positioning this door business to simply be helpful and fill the gap in the industry. We say “it is more than just a door” because it is. It’s the place where back to school pictures and prom pictures get taken. We greet our guests at our door to welcome them and it’s the place we exchange hugs and say our goodbyes. My daughters used to enjoy popsicles on the front porch and I always have this image of them sitting there with the front door behind them. Not only is the front door the backdrop for these experiences, but it also serves as the jewelry of the home. From the curb, it’s the bling that gives insight as to what the home is like on the inside.
It's Not Only About The Front Door
For those that use their backyards regularly for entertaining, two things will ring true. First, these doors are every bit as important as the front door (and may actually get used more often). Second, when these doors don’t operate properly or deteriorate over time, it is maddening.
We do a lot of projects where all we do is go in and help replace one door opening. Sometimes the function or visual changes from what it is today. Sometimes it stays the same.
We simply help you understand the options and install the door properly so it operates correctly and in the end looks like it has always been there.
There Are Many Options
I know it might be hard to believe, but there are so many choices as to what you can do when looking at new door options. What material do you choose? How much glass do you want? What type of glass do you want? What type of door hardware? Do you change the opening size or try to find a product that can work within that existing opening size? Can you find one company that can do it all and not just put it a door and walk away? If not, who will complete the trim work and painting (and sometimes drywall repairs) that are associated with these projects?
We Are Happy To Help Navigate
Because these types of projects often become more difficult than it might initially seem, just know we created 26 Entries to help try to fill that marketplace gap and be of help. We facilitate the process from beginning to end and our install is complete with trim and painting so that there is nothing left for you to do when we are done!
We Do Window Projects As Well
While we are at it, we should share that there aren’t a lot of replacement window companies offering nicer product options, so we have also found a nice niche in being able to replace an entire window in the opening and upgrading the window products on a home. If you ever have questions around windows, please don’t hesitate to ask!
Have a great week!
