We spend a lot of time trying to help homeowners understand elements of the home remodeling process to help folks avoid the potential pitfalls that projects can present. This week, you hear from a true expert! We ask a client to share her advice having lived through a project. It’s a client that we worked with for many months on a very large renovation project. Want to know what advice she has to offer? Keep reading (or check out our 15 minute interview) as we continue to demystify the remodeling process.
Interviewing a client who has experienced a large remodeling project with The Lifestyle Group is a unique experience. How did she prepare to hire us? What did she like most? What suggestions would she make to others considering a large remodel? Having an open, honest (and recorded) conversation with someone we spent so many months with confirmed many of my personal beliefs about why we do the things we do on a daily basis. So, let’s hit the key takeaways here in this newsletter… and I encourage you to take a listen to truly get a sense of what living through a large remodel is like, particularly working with The Lifestyle Group.
How did she select her partners for the project?
She did a lot of research looking for and talking to specific interior designers that might share her vision for the project. Then, upon the recommendation of the selected designer, she began to investigate us as the preferred remodeling partner to execute her project. The client shared that early interactions between her husband, herself and our company confirmed they were heading in the right direction with the right partner to execute their vision.
What things stood out to her during the project?
In our interview, she spoke about she became very comfortable because she knew we cared. We would go to great lengths to clean up of an evening and she would even say to stop and go home, but our guys would tell her they wanted to make it as nice as possible for the clients for the evening or weekend. She spoke about how she was never worried about leaving because she knew we were taking care of everything. And she talked about how she came to learn that all of our trade partners were caring just like our staff members, so the original concerns she had all tended to go away.
What advice does she offer about living through a large renovation?
She was very kind to recommend our company, but it was interesting to me that she suggested that you consider moving out for a large project. This might seem odd, but I was very glad she said that. We would never tell someone they have to move out of their own home during a project… and rarely do our clients move out… but her advice is worth considering when the project touches so many areas of your home that you cannot retreat to an oasis within your own space. Take it from someone who loved her experience with our company as she speaks from first-hand experience.
We touch on many topics in our 15-minute conversation! If you have questions about anything related to this topic, please don’t hesitate to ask. And, for anyone truly interested in talking to this client further about what it is like to work with The Lifestyle Group, we would be happy to put you in touch with her directly. She and her husband are wonderful people and we sincerely enjoyed working with them to complete their incredible project.
