Often times, you receive my Monday Motivation messages a day late, so let's try something out of the box and get you this one a day early... or a few hours early anyway!
This past week, our Indianapolis community lost two young people far too soon, both to various forms of cancer. Denver Hutt was a young advocate for making the City of Indianapolis a better place and it seems through reading about her that she did so by bringing people together and helping them reach their goals and dreams. Andrew Smith was an equally impactful young man who I thoroughly enjoyed watching play basketball for Butler University during their deep tournament runs a few years back.
Both of these young people seem to have been more respected for who they were than what they achieved (and their achievements were extensive). I find that to be the best compliment. So, this week, don't take your motivation from something I say. Please just read the following and take these things to heart:
Denver Hutt's last blog post read: "Smile at strangers. Be kind. Judge less. And hold the door."
And, former Butler Coach Brad Stevens said of Andrew Smith: "Life is not measured in years, but in meaningfulness. And nobody could have packed more meaningfulness into 25 years than Andrew Smith."
Let's keep all of the friends and families of these two individuals in our thoughts and prayers this week.
Have a great week everyone!
